Pickled Red Onion


  • 1 1/2 dl water
  • 1 1/2 dl vinegar 12% or 2 dl white vine vinegar or 1 dl apple cider vinegar
  • 1 dl sugar
  • 2 red onions, peeled and cut into thin slices


In a saucepan heat up the water, vinegar, and sugar. Stir until the sugar has dissolved. Turn off the heat. Peel and cut the onions, and add them to the saucepan while the liquid is still warm and let cool together. Mix around every now and again to make sure all onion slices get covered with the liquid. Let sit for an hour before you serve it. 🙂
